About:

I’m a director who also writes.

I’m a sympathetic and empathetic collaborator. Productions are always stronger through teamwork, and nuggets of genius come from everyone. Plus, I can’t think of everything – even though I do try to write and plan productions to an inch of their lives, but sometimes stuff happens and more magic flows. Yay.

I’ve have written and directed over 200 hours of drama, factual, and live television.

Companies I’ve  directed for include: Disney+, National Geographic, Discovery ID, A&E, C&I, Reelz, ZDF, BBC TV, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

I became a specialist in telling real stories, battles and personal struggles from WWII America’s war in the Pacific to chronicling true crime; from serial killers, to stalkers, through to the heartfelt stories of real heroes and biopics.

Working with film talent such as: Timothy Spall, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, James Cosmo, and UK talent such as: John Bird, John Fortune, Chris Tarrant, Johnny Vaughan, Patsy Palmer, Denise van Outen, Lisa Tarbuck and Gabby Logan.

Along the way I’ve also directed over 600 commercials for TV and cinema.

I’ve filmed in 14 countries including: Australia, Bahrain, Barbados, Canada, Dubai and USA.

My short films have won multiple awards, and even been screened at The Cannes Film Festival. While TV programmes; Generation YouTube garnered “TV Highlight” in LA Times and “Pick of the Day” in The Guardian. “None Of The Above” and “Car S.O.S.” for National Geographic won best audience ratings of the year, and multiple “Pick of the Day” reviews.

I have enjoyed lecturing, mentoring and workshopping BA & MA students at Ravensbourne University, The Met Film School and Shefield Hallam university from multicamera directing to factual.

I started out as an editor and lighting cameraman, and still use those skills in helping development teams create sizzles to pitch decks.

I’m also proud to be a full voting member of BAFTA.
